Is it possible to live stress free?
Yes! Stress distracts us from performing optimally, feeling inspired, getting things done, progressing in life and feeling healthy, happy and successful.
In the LSF model, we completely acknowledge the fact that external circumstances can cause stress-related inner thoughts and feelings, but the reality is that stress dwells within.
This is extremely good news! It means that the stress within can be decreased, unwound, and prevented if we choose to get rid of it.
When our inner world, which is made up of our thoughts, desires, emotions and moods is out of balance, we perceive things very differently than when our inner world is in balance. Living stress free means we live in balance.
What about good stress?
Any type of stress causes imbalance in the mind, body, and spirit, even “good” stress. This imbalance leads to dis-ease. All motivation, initiative, problem solving, innovation, creativity or achievement a person attributes to their stress, we believe is a misconception. Those qualities came from our own internal resources and were always there. The stress just cleared at that moment to bring them forward.
Stress motivates me. Why do I have to give that up?
Most likely, your mind has habitually learned that stress is the factor that is motivating you. The truth is, once you experience an inner equilibrium, a balanced state of mind-body-spirit, you will have the opportunity to access the motivation you need with the addition of discrimination. Sometimes the very things we think we need to do are not actually what we need to do to progress in life. Thoughts can be misleading and feelings are not facts.
I cannot imagine having no stress. How can you possibly help me?
The Living Stress-Free Approach
Stress is anything that disrupts our balance, our natural equilibrium.
Do you experience any of the following?
- A feeling of dissonance or uneasiness inside.
- An inability to spontaneously go with the flow.
- Feeling overwhelmed, confused, and unable to decide what to do next.
- Frustration, annoyance, irritation and resentment.
- Negativity, cynicism, and pessimism.
- Worry, apprehension, doubt, and uncertainty.
- Not knowing how you’re going to get everything done.
- Sadness, despondency, and a lack of joy.
- Fatigue, weakness and sleep disturbance.
- Overemphasizing certain areas of life and underemphasizing other areas.
All of this is STRESS.
Basically, everything that distracts us from performing optimally, feeling inspired, getting things done, progressing in life and feeling health, happiness and success is stress.
Living Stress Free describes stress as an inner force that affects varying degrees of our inner world, including our thoughts, desires, emotions and moods, all the way to our sense of self or who we believe and feel ourselves to be.
In the LSF model, we completely acknowledge the fact that external circumstances can cause these inner thoughts and feelings, but the reality is we experience stress within, don’t we?
When we are stressed, we often see the world existing as endless opposing possibilities and assume that competition and force will cause one possibility to overcome another.
Once we can regularly experience and internalize the stress-free state, we see these opposing forces as two parts of the same continuum. The continuum cannot exist without both parts. When balanced they support, assist, strengthen and energize one another. Out of balance, they appear as irreconcilable opposites creating great tension. This tension acts like a wave leaving unhealthy lifestyle choices, habits, addictions, relationship patterns, emotional imbalances and an inability to thrive at our peak level in its wake.
